Strachan's Brook is right there in the far right of the pic below:
he walks down our driveway to the brook, 250 mtres, and gets us 5 fish a day. that's all he's allowed to catch. and because of those rules, which he follows, the trout are always plentiful. he spends about an hour at the brook, start to finish, and an hour and a half at the river (just because it's farther away) and we eat 5 deelishous fresh trout a day during fishing season. his contract with Lobsters 'R Us is really frigging that up. but we are catch-uppers and we are catching up.
here's our favourite pasta.
here's edgar on the back of my chair and i dare any of you to say he does not look like a rat!
the dishwasher is finally out of the basement and back on the porch. only people who have to lug dirty dishes in bins from the porch to the basement...the door of which is outside...in the winter...can comment on this.
here's a breakfast for champions. pineapple chia fresca with fresh salsa with a hard boiled egg for breakfast.
kept the man working hard on the second greenhouse from dawn til it got too hot.
it's a crazy day at the manor...big, hot sun, both of us wore out, radish were planted today, butternut and buttercup squash planted yesterday, green and yellow acorn squash were planted yesterday and pumpkins. today, nasturtiums and a bunch of sunflowers were planted today.
greenhouse watering, watering the veggies, jambaloney going to get some sand loaded on the truck, then unloading it off the truck...kids - it's been a long day. please feel sorry for us - we are having fresh-caught lobster, steak and fresh-made salsa for supper.
i know - you all feel terribly for how hard we live our lives! xoxoxox
